High protein breakfast ideas

If you’re jumping on the protein bandwagon, you’ll love these high protein breakfast ideas!

I hate to start with a cliché but breakfast really is the most important meal of the day.

If you start the day with a good breakfast you’ll set yourself up to go on eating right for the rest of the day.

Having a high protein breakfast is a great way to kick-start your metabolism and keep you fuller for longer.

If you’ve ever found yourself hungry again shortly after breakfast and long before lunch, chances are you haven’t had a substantial morning meal.

Think about how your day pans out

You wake up and probably head to work, maybe you go to the gym before work, maybe you need to drop the kids off first.

You then do a full day at the office, or wherever you make your living, maybe you meet a friend after work, or you have some errands to run, so you get those done on the way home.

Don’t forget to pick the kids up!!

You’ve done all of that on a bowl of cereal, a few coffees and probably a sandwich or salad for lunch.

Then you go home and settle in for your big meal to be enjoyed right before slumping down on the sofa and then onto bed.

Hopefully you can see that a high protein breakfast is going to give you far more energy to do all of the above.

You’re burning energy you don’t have!

Think about it this way; you don’t fuel your car after you’ve driven it; that makes no sense.

So why are you driving yourself on empty?

Do yourself a favour and turn your daily meals on their head.

Chances are you’ve heard the old saying:

“Eat like a king for breakfast, a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner”

Your last meal of the day should be your smallest, and your first meal should be your biggest.

By consuming a high protein breakfast you are getting more slow burning calories in first thing, which in turn, will help fuel you efficiently to perform throughout the day.

This approach prevents your body from storing the excess calories you eat at night, since it’s running on the excess calories you consumed for breakfast!

This isn’t a free for all, you need to make sensible choices; a calorie is still a calorie!
